Grimes County has implemented an Emergency Notification System. This system will be used to notify you of emergencies in your area by county officials. Residents may choose to be contacted via cell, text or email. You will not need to register existing home phone numbers as they are already entered into the system. This information will not be distributed or sold to 3rd party entities.

If you were affected by
the recent flood rains and have and problems getting assistance, a Disaster
(DRC) has opened.
What: Disaster Recover Center has opened a claims office for Grimes County residents who were victims of the April and May 2016 events.

When: Hours are 9 am to 6 pm
Monday through Friday and 9 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. The DRC will be open for
the next 3 weeks.
NOTE: No appointment necessary. If you have insurance, bring the denial of assistance letters from your insurance agency.
If you have applied for
FEMA, bring the denial letter. If you have bids for the work to be done, bring
that as well.
Bring pictures of the damage. FEMA workers will help you draft your letter for assistance and letter of appeal. Average wait time has been 20 minutes or less.
